As of JBossAS 4.2, JBossTS (JTA) is the default transaction manager.

All forward development by JBoss on the existing JBoss JTA implementation has ceased and it has been placed into maintenance mode. However, community efforts on JBoss JTA, JBoss JTA+ and JBoss JTS may continue.
