DO NOT USE EJB3 RC9 PATCH 1

This note is for anyone that wants to use EJB3 with 4.0.x

The current release that can be used with JBoss 4.0.x is EJB3 RC9 Patch 1.  Please don't use this release for the following reasons.

1.  That code branch is dead.  No one will fix any bugs reported against RC9 Patch 1.  There are several major bugs that are in RC9 Patch 10, that were fixed in RC10(not released) that went into 4.2.0.  If you use EJB3 RC9 Patch 1, you will have to use it as is and just live with any bugs you find.

2.  There is no commercial support for EJB3 RC9 Patch 1.  Commercial support for the app server 4.0.x does not cover EJB3.  The stand alone EJB3 is still considered a release candidate and is not covered under any commercial support contracts.

3. There have been several releases with embedded ejb3 in it.  4.2.0, 4.2.1, 4.2.2, EAP 4.2, EAP 4.3.  There's really no reason not to upgrade to a newer version of the app server.
