Older versions of JBoss such as 2.4.6 lacks the line reading:

(Try googling for "jnp.rmiPort")

This means trouble if you're trying to connect through a firewall, and you're restricting access to as few ports as possible, since if the line is absent JBoss will randomly select a port.
